Hello

My father was born in Tlalpujahua, México, and worked on his family's ranch along with his 8 brothers and sisters. He lived in an environment where he had to walk miles to school, do homework by candlelight, and sleep on mats on the floor. Although he was not given the most nurturing childhood, he had the courage to immigrate to the United States in search of a new life to support his family. In recognition of the extreme poverty my father experienced, I understand why him, along with many other immigrants from México and beyond, decide to leave their homes and immigrate to America. By acknowledging and understanding his struggles, I want to educate my fellow Americans on not only immigrant situations, but the intricacies of American immigration system.
